Andrés Villalobos Cuevas

Andrés Villalobos Cuevas (B. 1978) studied Visual Arts at Universidad Autónoma de México where I specialized in sculpture and drawing. His work has focused on one side into the research on the relationship between body and image in which uses drawing and video as tools to explore this. On the other side his work explores play as a tool for artistic processes and it is through conversations and collaborations that I deepen this. In the year 2010 Cuevas co/founded an artist run co-op named Cooperativa Cráter Invertido, which has long been a process of self organization and collective artistic processes which in its core use drawing as our main tool to explore our thoughts and intuitions. As Cráter Invertido we have shown our work in Mexico City, in the Venice Biennale 2015, Jakarta Biennale 2015, and in Gwangju Biennale 2016.
